Christmas in Roosevelt

In July this year we moved to Roosevelt, Utah  so that Cory could go to work in the Oilfields.  This was our first Christmas away from family, since Gpa and Gma Slade are in a mission in Japan, which was a little sad. It was rough not being around family, but we have our family and we still had an enjoyable holiday season.

 Christmas Eve Jammies
Can't have Christmas without sitting on Santa's lap. Reggie...
 Ty...
 Jordyn...
and Ashton all got to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas at the Ward Christmas Party.
We did get to see some of the extended family when we pulled together a last minute Slade Christmas get together. Me and my family had to go to Utah County to do some shopping and met my Brothers Joe and Ryan and their families for dinner. Every year my mom makes a lot of homemade goodies and when they are done she has a house cookie jar that she puts them in and then sends a message to everyone saying visitors welcome. Since she was in Japan this year I was sad to not see that tradition, but my sis-in-law Kathi who is so talented and thoughtful put together this gift above. She bought each family a cookie jar house just like moms and used her recipes to fill the houses with the traditional homemade treats. It was such a sweet and thoughtful gift. It was like having a little bit of my mom there. It meant a lot to me! It was such a cute idea.

A Christmas Eve Tradition is usually decorating a gingerbread house with Dad, but this year we found a box of four gingerbread men so the kids each got to decorate their own man.

Then the craziness of Christmas morning came and the fun of opening gifts

 "Oh ya baby"

Finally the END!!!

After going through the Police Academy starting in 2010 Cory decided to work towards getting his BS Degree in Criminal Justice and after a lot of sacrifice and hard work he finished his last class December 18, 2014.

This is him leaving Utah Valley University the night of his last final. He is soooo excited!!! Can you tell?
He didn't get his actual diploma until February so we had to do something special to celebrate
He had just woken up from a nap when he got it so tired, but excited
"THE DIPLOMA"
We wanted to do something special for him to present his diploma to him so after he woke up from his nap we took him on a scenic drive and this is what he saw all down the street heading toward our house. First sign says A
College
Graduate

Here
Then when he got to the house he saw the Congrats Cory sign and when he went in his diploma was sitting on the table framed and with a bunch of balloons with it. He said he didn't believe he was actually finished

Congratulations Cory we are so happy for you and so very very Proud of your hard work. Now go get those bad guys.

Bluebell Cornmaze and Fall Break Traditions

Every Fall Break My friend of twenty five years Tiffany her kids and me and my kids get together to play.  This year we now live a couple of hours away from each other so I didn't think it was going to happen. Then Tiffany decided to surprise us and came to visit.  We had so much fun as usual and I was so HAPPY that they came to see us.
